“Your present circumstances don’t determine where you can go; they merely determine where you start”
    – Nido Qubein
I look forward to working together as we navigate the challenges of everyday life, trauma, anxiety, and depression among other conditions that can make us feel like we are suffering alone. Respect and unconditional positive regard are essential components of the therapy I provide my clients to create a supportive therapeutic environment.
My services include, but are not limited to:
    -Individual Counseling
    -Adolescent Counseling
    -Family Counseling
    – DBT (mindfulness, guided imagery, emotional regulation, distress tolerance)
    -Crisis Management
    – PTSD
    -Solution-Focused Therapy/ Motivational Interviewing
    -Narrative Therapy
Before becoming a social worker, I was an educator for many years. After a career teaching middle school, adolescents, and college-age students, it became evident that my students were in far greater need of mental health care than anything else. My understanding and appreciation for my students on an intellectual, emotional, and personal level gave me the insight to best meet the needs of my clients as a therapist.
I have an MSW from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work of Yeshiva University, an MA In Latin American and Iberian Studies from UCSB, and a Ph.D. in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Maryland College Park.
I am bilingual in Spanish and English.
