Jeffrey Pospis, MA, LPC, LCADC

I am a psychotherapist with experience treating adults, families, couples, and adolescents. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of Delaware and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Montclair State University. My professional credentials include Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), and Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS).
Through my cumulative professional and clinical experiences in the mental health and substance use fields over the past 20 years, I have developed an understanding of how substance use and life events can impact mental health, as well as the context and influence that these experiences can have on individuals’ development.
My clinical approach includes a mix of Person Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Narrative Therapy techniques. I will help you make sense of your struggles as they relate to life transitions and stressors. Through the psychotherapy process, I will help you focus on what is most important and meaningful. I believe in your ability to come up with your own solutions, through reflecting on thoughts and emotions that inform your decision-making processes. I believe that this awareness develops over time, and involves exploration of past and present life events that impact your current functioning. Your input and insight are integral. I will listen to you with a non-judgmental attitude and open mind. I will also check in with you over the course of therapy, to ensure that you are receiving the most effective support and benefitting from our time together.
I consider it a privilege to be invited into people’s lives and embark on the therapy journey. I welcome the opportunity to provide therapy for individuals from diverse backgrounds. I am hopeful that our respective experiences will create a dynamic relationship that empowers you and helps you to feel more capable of handling life’s challenges. I look forward to hearing from you.
